Strengthening Defence Innovation: Captec’s Highlights from CANSEC

Captec was proud to exhibit at CANSEC 2025, Canada’s leading defence, security, and emerging technology trade show, held from May 29–30 at the EY Centre in Ottawa. Organized by the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), the event hosted over 12,000 attendees and showcased innovations across land, naval, aerospace, and joint operational domains.

Canada’s Defence Vision: A Strategic Shift

CANSEC 2025 took place at a critical moment in global affairs. As nations across Europe and North America respond to evolving geopolitical dynamics, Canada is stepping forward with a renewed commitment to defence capability. With substantial investments pledged over the next decade, the country is actively positioning itself as a key player on the global stage.

This sentiment was echoed by keynote speakers throughout the event. Lord George Robertson, former NATO Secretary General, highlighted the urgency for allied nations to strengthen their collective security in the face of rising instability. Gabrielius Landsbergis Lithuania’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, reinforced the importance of protecting both digital and physical frontiers in today’s interconnected world.

CANSEC 2025 (4.1)

Innovations in artificial intelligence, simulation, and machine learning are reshaping the way defence forces prepare, train, and respond. In response, a clear theme emerged across CANSEC’s exhibition halls: the demand for smarter, more connected, and more resilient defence technology solutions engineered to support this new frontier.

As defence platforms grow in complexity, delivering high-performance, reliable computing at the edge, has become critical. Captec showcased its end-to-end product portfolio—ranging from configured to fully custom units—designed to meet your exacting requirements for performance, longevity, reliability, budget, and functionality in mission-critical defence applications. These platforms help support mission-critical functions such as tactical data processing, simulation training, and rapid deployment scenarios.

Supporting Allied Collaboration

The event also highlighted the growing importance of international cooperation and strategic partnerships. Increased representation from European delegations this year underscored Canada’s expanding role as a defence technology hub, and a diplomatic partner.

For Captec, the event reinforced our commitment to supporting global security through specialized computing and integrated systems. These are designed and engineered to meet the needs of next-gen defence operations, manufactured at our sites in the UK and Canada. Our presence at CANSEC reflects our ongoing mission to deliver innovation that empowers defence teams to operate confidently and effectively—wherever they are needed.
